Suzanne Carol (Tolzien) Garvick entered this world on November 10th, 1957, born to loving parents Marilyn (Clark) and Harvey Tolzien. She joined her father, mother, sister, and nephew in everlasting life on April 13th, 2016 after a short battle with gallbladder cancer. She grew up alongside her caring siblings Michael (Ginny) Tolzien and Marjorie (Bob) Noll and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Suzanne graduated from Prospect High School, Illinois State University, and later a masters from St. Xavier University. She went on to dedicate 35 years of her life to teaching at Rich East High School, 32 of which she also coached volleyball. When she was 24 she met James Garvick and would go on to marry him, as her best friend and soul mate. Together they had three beautiful girls, Katherine (Alex) Beerling, Lauren Garvick, and Sarah (Rafael Simmons) Garvick. She was also fortunate to have been there for the birth of her first grandchild, Parker Beerling. During her borrowed time here on earth, Suzanne lived for her family and friends. Going out of her way to make others happy was a daily occurrence. The warmth of her home and her penchant for seasonal décor was second only to the love and comfort she gave everyone lucky enough to have known her. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and a grammy, but most of all she was a beautiful person whose unparalleled love was the cornerstone of an amazing family who will miss her dearly.
